Infamous pedophile R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein’s groomer Ghislaine Maxwell were sentenced to decades in prison for their crimes.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping disgraced financier and Bill Clinton pal Jeffrey Epstein procure and abuse underage girls hundreds of times over more than a decade.
Maxwell was convicted of five charges in December, including sex trafficking a minor, for grooming four young girls for Epstein between 1994 and 2004.
Epstein notoriously committed suicide while awaiting trial in 2019. Maxwell reported this week Brooklyn jail staff threatened her safety and put her on suicide watch.
R&B singer R. Kelly was given a 30-year prison sentence for “using his fame to sexually abuse young fans” over several decades.
Kelly was convicted of racketeering and sex crimes in 2021 after accusations of sexual abuse followed the Grammy Award-winning artist for more than two decades.
Kelly’s trial had its fair share of drama. Just this week, an R. Kelly superfan was arrested for threatening the federal prosecutors who convicted Kelly.

The New York Times observed Maxwell’s prison term was shorter than the government recommendation and noted Maxwell spoke in court yet refused to apologize or accept responsibility for her crimes.
The Washington Post published a timeline of the Jeffrey Epstein – Ghislaine Maxwell scandal, tracing the case against them back to the initial Palm Beach police investigation in 2005.
CNN reported the judge in R. Kelly’s trial told him, “You left in your wake a trail of broken lives” and acknowledged his own traumatic childhood “may explain, at least in part, what led to your behavior. It most surely is not an excuse.”

The Wall Street Journal reported R. Kelly’s attorneys pledged to appeal his 30-year sentence, meaning the former R&B superstar’s legal battles are far from over.
Fox News reported the district judge presiding over the Maxwell trial, Alison Nathan, said a “very significant sentence is necessary” as she sent an “unmistakable message” with Maxwell’s stiff prison sentence.
The Daily Wire quoted the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who condemned Maxwell for trying to blame others for her actions. Prosecutors said, “Instead of showing even a hint of acceptance or responsibility, the defendant makes a desperate attempt to cast blame wherever else she can.”
