- NPR noted the suspect was hospitalized after the beating before being sent to the county jail. Mulberry, the town where the beating occurred, is about 140 miles northwest of Little Rock and situated near the Oklahoma border.
- Yahoo! News wrote the woman who filmed the video sent it to her sister who then shared it on Twitter. The video quickly racked up over 4 million views and prompted a response from the governor.
- According to The Guardian, Arkansas officials have not yet released the names of the three officers depicted in the video. The two deputies were suspended, while the Mulberry police officer was placed on administrative leave.
- The Daily Mail reported the suspect, Randall Worcester, was charged with terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, and other assault-related charges after he allegedly threatened a store worker at the site where the beating took place.
- Per The New York Post, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) announced the State Police would investigate the incident “pursuant to the video evidence.”
- The Washington Examiner noted the suspect was not handcuffed in the 34-second video and the clip did not include the events leading up to the encounter.
